..........One day, it was Suman's birthday. Rani lived in a hole in his house. Since morning, Suman was busy with his friends in decorating the house for his birthday party.
After hanging the festoons, the balloons were being puffed up.
Suman's friend, Saurabh was also inflating a balloon while eating a chocolate as well. Due to this, some of the chocolate got stuck on the balloon too.
Just the, Suman's mother asked the boys to eat some snacks. Saurabh dropped the balloon down and rushed into the dining room.
Soon, Rani also came there. She smelled the chocolate. She just could not control herself. She crawled towards the balloon which was smeared with chocolate.
She had not yet licked the chocolate fully when the boys came back. Saurabh picked up his chocolate smeared balloon to inflate it.
Rani was at that time near the balloon's mouth. She sneaked into the balloon out of fear. When Saurabh inflated the balloon, by blowing it with his mouth, Rani fell deep inside it.
Saurabh then took the balloon there to tie it with a thread. Rani also kept rolling up and down and sideways due to this.
Now she regretted her action. After rolling down here and there inside the balloon, she felt unconscious.
Saurabh hung the balloon along with others from the ceiling fan.
The balloon began to swirl along with the fan. Ranju felt excited on seeing this.
The poor girl did not know what effect it was having on Rani who was shut inside the balloon!
Then Saurabh scolded Ranju, "You will ruin all the hard work we have done in decorating the room.
"The balloons will burst if you switch on the fan!" he said.
Then he switched off the fan.
After a few hours, when Rani regained consciousness, it was already evening. The room was full with guests now.
The kids were playing around. But Rani was groaning in pain inside the coloured balloon. She was suffocating as well.
But her troubles were far from over. Sunil, one of Suman's friends, jumped up and took hold of the balloon inside which was Rani. Then he began to play with it.
When Sunil would hurl up the balloon, Rani too would get carried up and then drop down.
She would hardly recover from her first injury when Sunil would hurl the balloon up again.
Harassed by repeated injuries, Rani was now lamenting the time when she had smelled the chocolate.
She decided that if she was able to get out of the balloon alive, she would never be greedy.
Incidentally, Suman asked Sunil to leave the balloon and play with him instead. Sunil did not agree. Suman then pinched the balloon and it burst.
The deflated balloon, totally blown to bits, was now lying in a corner in the room. Nobody paid any attention to it.
All the guests and even the hosts were busy playing, eating and chatting.
Rani remained unconscious in the balloon for several hours. It was her good luck that nobody had trampled upon the balloon as yet.
Finally, when she gained consciousness, she limped back to her hole with great difficulty.
This incident changed her completely. She was no longer a greedy and gluttonous ant!
